Rivers of Paradise:-
As usual, Muhammad copied from the Torah the concept of the four rivers of the Garden of Eden and modified it to fit the mentality of the Arabian Bedouin in Muhammad's version of Paradise.
Genesis 2: "10 A river issues forth from Eden to water the garden, and from there it is divided and becomes four headwaters 11 the name of the first is Pishon…13 The name of the second river is Gihon…14 The name of the third river is Hiddekel (Dijla/ Tigris)… and the fourth river is the Purat/ Euphrates"
47: 15 (Here is) a Parable of the Garden [Jannati] which the righteous are promised: in it are rivers of water incorruptible: rivers of milk [Laban] of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine [Khamr] a joy to those who drink; and rivers of honey [Asal] pure and clear. In it there are for them all kinds of fruits and Grace from their Lord. (Can those in such Bliss) be compared to such as shall dwell for ever in the Fire and be given to drink boiling water so that it cuts up their bowels (to pieces)?
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.607 Narrated byAbu Huraira
Allah's Apostle said, "On the night of my Ascension to Heaven, I saw (the prophet) Moses who was a thin person with lank hair, looking like one of the men of the tribe of Shanua; and I saw Jesus who was of average height with red face as if he had just come out of a bathroom. And I resemble prophet Abraham more than any of his offspring does. Then I was given two cups, one containing milk and the other wine. Gabriel said, 'Drink whichever you like.' I took the milk and drank it. Gabriel said, 'You have accepted what is natural, (True Religion, i.e. Islam) and if you had taken the wine, your followers would have gone astray.' "
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 4.647 Narrated byAbu Huraira
The Prophet said, "I met Moses on the night of my Ascension to heaven.".....
Then I was made to ascend to Sidrat-ul-Muntaha (i.e. the Lote Tree of the utmost boundary) Behold! Its fruits were like the jars of Hajr (i.e. a place near Medina) and its leaves were as big as the ears of elephants. Gabriel said, 'This is the Lote Tree of the utmost boundary.' Behold! There ran four rivers; two were hidden and two were visible. I asked, 'What are these two kinds of rivers, O Gabriel?' He replied, 'As for the hidden rivers, they are two rivers in Paradise and the visible rivers are the Nile and the Euphrates.'
Then Al-Bait-ul-Ma'mur (i.e. the Sacred House) was shown to me and a container full of wine and another full of milk and a third full of honey were brought to me. I took the milk. Gabriel remarked, 'This is the Islamic religion which you and your followers are following.' Then the prayers were enjoined on me: They were fifty prayers a day.
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 7.508 Narrated byAbu Huraira
Allah's Apostle was presented a bowl of milk and a bowl of wine on the night he was taken on a journey (Al-Mi'raj).
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 7.514 Narrated byIbn Abbas
Allah's Apostle drank milk and then rinsed his mouth and said, "It contains fat." The Prophet added: -I was raised to the Lote Tree and saw four rivers, two of which were coming out and two going in. Those which were coming out were the Nile and the Euphrates, and those which were going in were two rivers in paradise. Then I was given three bowls, one containing milk, and another containing honey, and a third containing wine. I took the bowl containing milk and drank it. It was said to me, "You and your followers will be on the right path (of Islam)."
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 5641 Narrated byAnas ibn Malik
When Allah's Messenger was asked what al-Kawthar was he replied, "That is a river Allah has given me (meaning in Paradise), whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, containing birds whose necks are like the necks of sacrificial camels." Umar remarked, "These have a pleasant life," and Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) replied, "Those who eat them have a pleasanter life."
Tirmidhi transmitted it.
*** Even the Biblical Milk & Honey verse is here plagiarised to describe Muhammad's personal gift from his Allah ***
Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 5650 Narrated byHakim ibn Mu'awiyah
Allah's Messenger said, "In Paradise there are a great river of water, a great rivers of honey, a great river of milk and a great river of wine; then the smaller river will be divided off."
Tirmidhi transmitted it, and Darimi transmitted it from Mu'awiyah.
*** As can be seen from the above Hadiths, they do not agree to the number of cups that Muhammad was offered to drink from.
They also do not agree with the ORIGINAL story in the Bible regarding the names of the rivers. The Nile after all, is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible.
Most important of all that the reader should be made aware of is, that whilst in the Biblethe FOUR rivers are EARTHLY ones, in the Hadiths they are presumed to be HEAVENLY ones because Muhammad - as usual - did not understand the SPIRITUAL concept of ADAM'S FALL thinking it was a PHYSICAL fall from heaven to earth instead of being the concept of a
'Fall from Grace' ***
